What to consider before hiring a plumber?

What to consider before hiring a plumber?

When you are renovating your home, or have some plumbing to be done, choosing the right plumber is crucial to your home improvement. You want to make sure they can do the job right, and do the right job! There are a many great professionals available, but to avoid hiring a cowboy, consider the following tips before you hire a plumber:

A good first step is to always ask around for a recommendation. While it is easy to flip through the local classifieds, talking to people you trust or those you know have hired a plumber in the past is a great way to find a good plumber. You can even inspect the works that have been undertaken and ask questions about their approach. If you are happy with a recommendation, check the plumber's website for information on the services they provide. Are they able to take on your job or is it too big (or small) a challenge?

Make sure the plumber is fully licensed and check whether they offer a warranty on the work they perform or parts they supply, such as Pipe perfection Plumbers. You can also check the plumber's credentials with the local plumbing licensing board. Will they issue a Compliance Certificate for all plumbing works? This ensures that their work complies with all Regulatory Requirements. Think about your budget and discuss this with your plumber. This ensures that you are both aware of your limit and if any additional work arises, hopefully it won't go overboard. Also talk to your plumber about any rebates, water saving or environmentally-friendly devices that can be included in the works.
