Renovation Project - One year anniversary
Today is Friday, our new joists
should be arriving, but this is France and everything is a bit more laid back
than it is in England, I have every faith they will arrive, John does not!
John and Craig are spending the
afternoon with the hire van to collect enough plaster board and scant (which is
3 x 2 studding for partition walls) for the ceilings and the walls that we are
going to have to rebuild.
I spend the morning at the tip
again as we do have to have a clear space to work and to store the
plasterboard. The plasterboard needs to be stored flat to prevent any bowing.
They return with all that we need
and it is stacked in the living room, the delivery has still not arrived!
We have also borrowed a plaster
board lift off Craig, this should make our life so much easier as we do not
have to stand with the plaster board held above our head, this is not a nice
thing to do, I will let you know if the lift is any good.
We are giving the delivery till
7.30 (I still have every faith that it will arrive) I have faith in it right up
to the moment we leave the house at 7.30, OK it’s not coming, Theresa has said that
she will call the merchants in the morning for us.
We are going out for a meal
tonight, which is now quite exciting as we are becoming slight recluses as we
are just working so hard, the evening is lovely and there is a small fair in
the town square, it is a very small fair with a number of burger vans, but
unlike English burger vans, these are so nice, we think back to a year ago and
remember living in the tent eating these burgers.
We celebrate our one year anniversary
in the Crepuscule, we also celebrate Johns birthday a little early, we still
can’t believe we have been here a year and how far we have got, here are a few
before and after pictures just to remind you of what we moved into and what we
live in now!
