Renovation project - it's a small world

Renovation project - it's a small world

We wake up in our own bed, which is lovely, even if is a struggle to get out of the bed because it’s so bloody cold.

We have some visitors coming today, Gerda and Andy, Gerda found me off the blog and will be moving to France soon, not too far from us. I still find it amazing that we have made friends with people over the internet, so to get to meet some of them is fantastic.

Gerda is also writing a blog about their move and her photography business and can be found here -

They arrive in the afternoon and have a full tour, they also bring a big pack of Breton Biscuits as a gift, I do love people who bring gifts.

Andy’s mum was also with them and I think she was a little bit shocked at the house, this was confirmed in an e-mail we received from Gerda a couple of days later, I’m so glad she didn’t come when we had no doors, windows missing, no bathroom or electricity!

We have a lovely couple of hours and think we may have made some good friends, we will be having a visit to their house in summer, and can’t wait.

The rest of the afternoon is spent relaxing as I am now truly exhausted after the past few days and think it is really catching up with me.

Tomorrow we start work again in earnest, I really want the house finished so that the kids and babies can come to visit.

  1. Hi Jenny, It is sometimes nice to take some time out especially when you have been away, it somehow exhausts you more than the actual work, always nice to see family and friends but very nice to get back to your own bed, here the sun has started shining and we have been able to get out in the garden to start the big clean up after winter, I have also looked at your friends site and blog and find it very interesting but I can't see where to join and follow. have a good rest day - Roz

  3. Have you not finished that little job yet? :) Seriously though, it's looking good. You find you go for weeks and nothing seems to change, then all of a sudden massive changes seem to appear quickly. Sorry it's so cold there, I can imagine but it just means you'll have to work harder to keep warm. Let me know when my room is ready..
