Renovation project - Our new French house
Veolia arrive and the water is connected with no problem, we have the water meter in place and we are going out to get the new pipes today.
We go to the big Brico depot in Morlaix. This is one of the biggest shopping days we have as we also need to buy a cooker, fridge etc. we start at the building shop and the total is over 500 euros (ouch!) but as we try to pay there is a problem with our card.
It is getting late so we ask if we can leave the full trolley and come back tomorrow, this is no problem, the only problem is that the card does not work, but I have a sneaky feeling it may be because I have forgotten to top up our current account.
But in case you were wondering this is what the inside of the house looks like
The living room (with and without our belongings)
The kitchen
The bedrooms
The bathroom
The little house
It all looks so exciting! Do you ever find any treasures in these houses or is it all just junk and garbage. What is that big black pot by the fireplace. I can't wait to see what you do!!
ReplyDeletehi, the best thing we have ever found was a pile of really old photographs that we were able to return to the owners, otherwise it is all junk. The big black pot is an old wash tub, but we are not quite sure
Deletei get it - two houses - one to rent and one to live in or will you combine them and have a bigger house?
ReplyDeletefirst thought was to rent one out, but we're not sure now, we may just go for a bigger house, this is the problem, you have a good idea of what you want but it changes regularly once you are living in it :)
DeleteThe houses are great. I especially like the little one it looks like it's got loads of character. We're always changing things in the middle of a project, the last one was supposed to be two simple barn renovations and ended up a house, a restaurant and two flats above it. Makes life more interesting and a bit to hectic at times. Good luck ☺
ReplyDeletewow that is definitely a change! the little house is fantastic, we just have to wait for planning permission to take down thee garage that is covering the front of it. there are old granite window frames, completely hidden
